About the role
Midland Tractors is the Tasmanian Dealer for John Deere Agricultural Products, Silvan Spraying & Farming Equipment and Segway Power Sports. We service a diverse range of customers with quality, well renowned equipment and after sales support and service.
We are seeking the services of a self-motivated Sales Professional to join our team servicing the North West Coast of Tasmania.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Actively pursuing new business opportunities whilst maintaining the current customer base
- Maintaining a current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment potentially saleable by the dealership
- Maintaining all customer information for sales management
- Following a defined sales process
- Conducting new equipment field demonstrations
- Maintaining current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods
- Attending applicable sales training events / seminars
- Maintaining current knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate for trading purposes
Essential Criteria:
- Previous sales experience, ideally in the agricultural equipment industry (desirable)
- Knowledge of agricultural equipment
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Ability to seek sales opportunities
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Suite, CRM and Sales software
- Motor vehicle licence is essential

Diesel Mechanic / Auto Electrician

About the role
Midland Tractors' is seeking experienced Diesel Mechanics / Auto Electricians to join our Longford Team. This full-time role will see you using your expertise to maintain and repair a range of agricultural equipment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Diagnose and repair issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems and other vehicle components
- Carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance on a variety of agricultural equipment
- Perform electrical repairs and modifications to equipment wiring systems and accessories
- Use diagnostic equipment and apply technical knowledge to identify and resolve problems
- Maintain detailed records or work completed and parts used
- Provide exceptional customer service and advice to customers
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant Australian recognised trade certificate
- Hands-on experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Auto Electrician
- Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilitie
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to safety
- A valid drivers licence

Midland Tractors is the Tasmanian Dealer for John Deere Agricultural Products and Silvan Spraying & Farming Equipment and Segway Power Sports. We are a family owned and operated business with branches at Longford, Latrobe, Montrose & Stanley.
We currently have an opening at our Longford Branch for a Service Supervisor. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing all service activities whilst working closely with the team to drive productivity and technical excellence.
Key responsibilities will include;
- Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee daily workflows to optimize labour, workshop capacity and job turnaround times
- Monitor WIP, job costing and workshop efficiency, identifying opportunities to improve productivity and service quality
- Oversee warranty processes in accordance with manufacturer policies
- Coaching, mentoring and developing all team members to grow their capabilities
- Ensure all tools, equipment and vehicles are maintained in good working order
- Promote and enforce a strong, proactive safety culture
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience in supervisory position ideally within a workshop environment with strong leadership and technical capability
- Excellent time management with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to support and drive positive change
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on keeping all stakeholders informed
- Proficiency in industry-specific software for administrative tasks and workshop management systems

Midland Tractors is the Tasmanian Dealer for John Deere Agricultural & Turf Products, Silvan Spraying & Farming Equipment and Segway Power Sports. We are a family owned and operated business with branches at Longford, Latrobe, Montrose & Stanley.
We currently have an opening at our Longford Dealership for a Spare Parts Interpreter.
- Promoting and selling products and/or services to meet customer needs
- Parts interpreting and placing Machine Down and Stock Orders
- Invoicing parts to customers - internal & external
- Assist with preparing and maintaining merchandise displays
- Assist with keeping parts department clean and safe
